Question : Problem: Help with iPhone and Exchange 2003 running on SBS2003 server

I have been trying to get a friends iPhone working on his Exchange server. I have gone over the Exchange config and iPhone config over and over and cannot get this to work. I am doing this without a certificate. I have been told that by doing the following this can work - I have seen it working elsewhere using this config as well ---
1. Make sure IIS services have all IP addresses allowed on the following sites -
Exchange
Exchange-OMA
ExchWeb
2. Open port 443 to the Exchange server
3. Make sure user has mobile sync running
4. Confirm web access is working - yes
5. Make sure no SSL is required on each site.
on i phone -
1. Configure Exchange account
- Use IP address for server name
- User name and password
- no SSL.

I realize these steps are all over the place, however once all configured this should work. Has anyone got any suggestion on how else i can set this up? if I need to use a certificate I can do that but all the instructions I see seem incomplete... Is anyone willing to help me get this working start to finish? This is a company owner's phone. I just moved him from BES, which I am very comfortable with, to ActiveSync and this iPhone, which obviously I am not too familiar with. Please help.

If you dont actually use the sharepoint or companyweb sites, you can just uninstall and reinstall IIS with no issue.

Again what you should do is try with the lowest level of authentication you can to get it working, then increase or change one thing at a time.

Once you have it working on a non domain pc (or mac) you are ready to do it on the iphone.

Remember to keep checking its working after each step.
