Question : Problem: Trouble with getting an acronis image....might be xp issue
|
|
i had backed up a hard drive on my system with acronsi....then i took and mounted the image to 2 drive letters (2 partitions) now i know there are pictures in one of the profiles...but im told "access denied" when i try to open the "desktop" icon under this such profile.....Im thinking this is because the user has a password on her profile....
I can still boot off the "backed up" hard drive on the original computer......Would I have to reset the password to none, reback up to image and then remount it?? this seems like a pain and i already have an image....If i can get in without starting over that would be great.

Hello,
Well...it sounds like the user's permissions are still intact. Try copy the Desktop folder you talk about to some place on the local disk and then trying to open it there. Do this as admin user if possible. If you still get the message, right-click, go into properties and change the permissions for whatever user you're using. As long as it's an admin user, you'll be able to add/change permissions.
