Question : Problem: New processor chip for Dell dimension L 700 cx celeron desktop
I would like to upgrade the processor on my Dell Dimension L 700cx celeron desktop computer to a pentium. I think a pentium 3 is as high as I can go and it must be a flip chip. What else do I need to know before I purchase a processor and how much should this cost?

Unfortunately, there is no PIII that has a 66 FSB. There is a PIII 700 with 100 FSB and the same voltage, but your Dell motherboard would need to be able to run at 100 FSB and you would need PC100 RAM or better, if you currently have PC66. If you tried using such a part at 66 FSB, your machine would run at 66% of rated speed.
