Question : Problem: Configuring a Sonicwall TZ170 Router for VPN connectivity via the Sonicwall Global VPN client

Enviroment
I have a SonicWall TZ170 running firmware version SonicOS Standard 3.1.0.7-77s.
My internet connection is provided by a residential grade cable internet company (Cox Communications).

Goals
I would like to configure my Sonicwall to allow software based VPN clients to connect to my network from various DHCP assigned IP addresses.
I want the clients to be able to see netbios traffic to allow them to locate my server shares, access my sharepoint services internal website, and contact my exchange server using its internal network information.
I don't mind connecting to the VPN using sonicwall client software or anything else as long as its easy for my non technical users.

Additional information
I do have access to the Sonicwall Global VPN client software but I haven't been able to figure out what exactly needs to be done make it work

Answer : Problem: Configuring a Sonicwall TZ170 Router for VPN connectivity via the Sonicwall Global VPN client

Dude, if you have a Sonicwall TZ-170 and the Sonicwall Global VPN Client software, use that for your VPN.  It's much easier and more secure.  Anyone with local admin rights to the PC can load the client.  They will just need to enter the WAN IP of the TZ-170 and the Shared secret one time.  From that point on, they click an icon and enter their username and password.

If you are running Windows AD you can load IAS and configure for RADIUS.  Tell the sonicwall to use RADIUS and you can control what users can VPN.

The Sonicwall is one of the few products where the Wizzards really work.  There is a VPN wizzard that makes configuring the sonicwall for VPN a snap.

If you need more info, let me know.
