Question : Problem: Adapter Parallel(male)/USB(female)<wbr />

I am in a unique situation. At work we use a database program that will print to HP parallel printers and a very limited selection of HP usb printers. The program is driver specific(hp laserjet 4 driver). Recently, we have had an issue with several employees from our company had purchased USB printers. These particular printers are not compatible with the hp laserjet 4 driver, thus they are not able to print documents from the database.

I've searched online for an adapter to plug the usb printer to a parallel adapter, but have not been able to find one. I am not even sure if one is even made. I am wanting to use the parallel port on the computer, since I never have any problems printing from the database to an lpt port. Does anyone know of such an adapter or point me in the direction to look for it?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.
Steven

Answer : Problem: Adapter Parallel(male)/USB(female)<wbr />

Hello Steven:

25 printers 'cheap' - well, you get what you pay for.

Too bad you have to clean up another person's mess.

I just took another stab at converters and came up with this one:

Maybe you have already seen it or it might be the solution garycase alluded to, but the description sounds like your problem.

And here's another one:

or

It's a hardware parallel port connector with a USB output - the text describes your problem and offers the device as a solution.  For $90 it might work...
