Question : Problem: generate test load on file server - ntstress

I am evaluating file replication software over a WAN. My goal is to generate a simulated load on a test file server, adjusted to represent the measured load of production serves. I communicated with the sisoftware.com Sandra team, and understand it is not what I want. Intel has software, NASPT, that does put a load on the server, and may have to do. But is appears to be not what i want, as it is putting occurences of large single files - good for testing a NAS device, but not replication of assorted files in a file share. Microsoft NTStress seems the answer. But I can find only an early version, and I have not yet been able to get it to work in a Windows 2003 environment. I have seen reference to ntstress v4, but cannot find anything tangible. Are there other tools that could place a simulated load on a file server?

Thank you, Cam

Answer : Problem: generate test load on file server - ntstress

I do appreciate the responses on this question! It does not appear that there is load test software that meets my requirements, and that satisfies my request.
