Question : Problem: Dell Remote Access Card... are they any good?

Dell Remote Access Card, 5th Generation for PowerEdge Remote Management... have you ever had one in your server? has it ever been useful?? Was it a waste of money? offer some information on experiences with them. Is there a better option on the market?

Answer : Problem: Dell Remote Access Card... are they any good?

yes, they are good... but if your looking for just console access, an IP KVM is better.

If you are looking for mapping devices like floppy, CD-rom, to the server over seperate network, the DRAC is good.

We have this option installed in every server for remote management...especially if the server OS dies.
