Question : Problem: XP Network card malfunction

I have an Intel onboard NIC card that is not working. When installed, it shows the yellow marker and says it is not functioning, Code 31-Cannot install software. I have updated with the latest download from Intel, but error will not go away. It also will not install--Error says program is needed to boot computer. I have disabled in BIOS, cleaned registry with jv16, nothing fixes it. Even when disabled in BIOS, 1394 Net Adapter shows up, with same error message. Problem occurred suddenly, no new software installed. Have found same problem on internet, but no solutions. I need an expert! Thank you.

Had to reinstall XP, that fixed the problem.
