Question : Problem: How to create a .pcl file from an MSWord doc
|
|
Hi, hopefull ythis is an obvious and easy question that has passed me by when they gave out brain cells but:
I have a word document consisiting of text only and I want to create a .pcl file from it. I understood I could use the 'Print to File' option but that produces a .prn file. We have a HP CLJ CP4005 PCL6 printer.
Thanks

The only option from within Word regarding print to file will give you the .prn extension, not .pcl. Sorry, but not an option from within Word.
You can open the document in Notepad, and print to file. Here you will be able to specify the name and extension.
Or you can use a third party app. Here are two that state they can be used to create pcl files: http://www.pcltools.com/propt2.php http://www.formslib.com/formforge.htm
