Question : Problem: How can I disable ability to create wireless ad hoc networks?
We have an issue with laptop users setting up their own ad-hoc wireless networks that broadcast in the office while they are connected to our domain via their wired NIC. This is a security no-no. Other than walking around with a wireless sniffer, is there a way to disable the user's ability to create wireless ad-hoc networks, preferrably using group policy?
Answer : Problem: How can I disable ability to create wireless ad hoc networks?
In group policy, go to computer configuration / windows settings / security settings;
In wireless network policies, create a new policy and then edit that policy to allow access point only.
Hope this helps
