Question : Problem: computer won't post.

hi I have a custom-built computer. It has a Asus motherboard model number P5N32-SLI premium
I was used in the computer and everything was working fine. All of a sudden the computer shut down. After I try to return on the computer would power up but it would fail to post. I tried removing all of the unnecessary hardware and left only the RAM hard drive motherboard video card and processor and of course the power supply. It still would not post. So I tried a different monitor I also tried a different video card I put in different memory and it still would not post on still using the same motherboard and the same processor what could possibly be the problem but I ready check the memory video card the video monitor and everything out other than the actual motherboard the actual processor, and the actual power supply.

What could possibly be the problem that has caused the computer not to post.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer : Problem: computer won't post.

With the HDD's connected when you power on do you hear the drives spin-up?
If you have case fans/HDD's etc spinning when you turn on the PC I would say it's not the PSU. In my experience PSU's either die completely or short intermittently meaning you'd be able to boot but then you'd suffer random reboots.

I'd be leaning towards a dead mainboard, if possible test your CPU in another PC to narrow it down.
