Question : Problem: Ram upgrade for no-brand PC

I have a no-brand PC running a P4 processor with 1 GB RAM.  It was built by a company that has since gone out of business. Is there a way to tell what RAM I need to buy without taking the entire PC to another computer store?

Answer : Problem: Ram upgrade for no-brand PC

Go in to the bios and view your current memory.

On boot it should say press "a button" for system bios.  That button can be del, F1, F2, F12

If you don't see that option, when you first power the computer on, press Tab sometimes they have the other screen blocked by a splash screen.

Once in the bios navigate to the memory options.  Note though, changing stuff in the Bios with out knowing what you are doing can really mess up your computer.
