Question : Problem: How do I pull a Clamshell iBook apart?
|
|
I can't find anywhere on the net a set of instructions to pull my 300Mhz iBook apart. I need to instal a new 60 GiG HD into the little soldier. Any URL with ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hey electronica, if you want some great directions on taking apart your clamshell iBook to upgrade your hard drive, visit <http://www.tznet.com/tittle/PHOTOS_1/iBook1.html> . I also highly recommend <http://caslis.com/mac/ibook/ibdrive.html>, but they seem to be down for maintenance.
I am currently writing this on my Graphite iBook DVSE, which I upgraded from the 10gb drive to a 40gb drive.
Remember, opening the iBook beyond removing the keyboard/memory/airport is grounds for termination of any AppleCare Protection Plan you have on the computer.
My advice to you to keep the screws' original location straight, is to put out a big sheet of paper and write down where each set of screws comes from, and then keep the screws on that...
Good luck, and have fun!
Have a great day!
