Question : Problem: Mac Airport Card not working on home WIFI WEP

I have  a client with an  iMac, it is  is the 2001 slot loading imac. (400mhz dv version, blueberry)  Just for fun, they got the airport card to put it on the wifi in the house.  Unfortunately, it won't take the WEP key from the Linksys router, even with the $ in front of it, like I read on the net.  Any advice?  It's a 128 bit WEP key.
PS
It's not the airport extreme,- that's for g4 macs and above.

Answer : Problem: Mac Airport Card not working on home WIFI WEP

802.11b is notorious for getting stepped on by devices operating in the 2.4 GHz range include: microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, baby monitors and cordless telephones. Try turning off everything in the house in that band and see if it can connect.
