Question : Problem: 2-video cards & 4 monitors
I have 2 confusers. We will call PC # 1 and PC #2. PC#1 = ASUS M2N-E mobo. I want to run 2 Video Cards & 4 monitors.. It has one PCI-e x16 Nividia now with 2 monitors. My other machine= PC #2 is a Asus M2N32-SLI-Delux and runs 2 Nividia 7900GS cards and 4 monitors. Has 2 PCI-Ex16 slots. I don't run SLI just multi-task. Is there a way my PC #1 can run 2 video cards and 4 monitors? Only one PCI-Ex16 slot. I was told that I can add a splitter to the DVI connections on the one video card for 2 monitors. Would that allow them to operate separate? I don't want to just clone or span.

It is also advisable to use the same video drivers for both cards, to avoid conflicts that may arise. If the main card is nVidia, get a PCI card that is also an nVidia. I recommend this FX5200, which has two VGA ports (DVI was not available when it came out): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133007
