Question : Problem: Printer "Cannot install this Hardware" message

I have gotten myself into "found new hardware" Hell. Not the first time. I plugged in an Epson All-In-One (Stylus 4800) BEFORE installing the software. Now, even though I downloaded the driver and ran setup, when I rescann for the printer I get the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware wizard". I tell it "Install the software automatically" and it always ends with a "Cannot Install the Hardware" message. How do I get out of this loop ?

Answer : Problem: Printer "Cannot install this Hardware" message

Disconnect the printer. Uninstall the driver. If there is no uninstaller on the CD, first delete the printer from the Printers Control Panel. Then go to the file menu in Printers and select Server Properties. Click the drivers tab and remove the printer from the drivers list.

Now reinstall the printer following the instructions in the manual.
