Question : Problem: songs on pc not in itunes

hi, is there a way to check if all the songs i hold on my pc are recognised in itunes?
for example i used explorer to move alot of songs in to the itunes folder.  my guess is that they are not showing in the itunes program.

In iTunes .. in the File Menu ... select Add to Library and browse to your My Documents/MyMusic/iTunes/iTunes Music  folder

This will make iTunes re-scan the iTunes Music folder and add any new music to its index.
NOTE: Putting music files in the iTunes Music folder DOES NOT automatically make them appear in iTunes. You have to ADD TO LIBRARY from within iTunes. iTunes uses an index file to record where all the music is stored, iTunes allows you to keep music in other folders on your computer unless.....
If you use the "Consolidate Library" command this will copy any music files located elsewhere on your computer into the iTunes Music folder and organise all the music in that folder by artist/album.
