Question : Problem: Backup Exec & Exchange Recovery Groups

I have a server with Backup Exec 10d and Exchange 2003 SP2 / Win2k3 SP2.  Backup Exec has been backing up Exchange via SNAPSHOTS.  It isn't doing brick level backups.  I would like to recover 1 persons mailbox to a separate area to compare changes.  I have been trying to restore the entire store to a recovery group so I could extract the mailbox but it looks like Recovery Groups aren't an option if I'm doing Snapshot Backups.

How can I get the mailbox out of the backup without affecting production?

After banging my head on this for 3 days with no results, I took the production store down for about 6 hours :(.  I dismounted the store and copied the files elsewhere for an offline backup.  Then I restored the entire old from tape and exported the mailbox I needed (had to run a eseutil /p on the store to fix the dirty shutdown).  Then I copied the offline store backup back in and brought the server back up. What a pain, just to help a CEO who accidently deleted a few emails.
