Question : Problem: Can't open Iomega 250 USB zip drive

I recently switched out a WinXP pro machine with another one.  Prior to this, an external USB Iomega 250 Zip drive was attached to the old unit.  I set up the new unit and attached the zip drive and everything seems fine...the bios recognizes it and device manager recognizes it as well, however when I try to open the zip drive in "my computer" or explorer it hangs and I cannot access any properties.  I am trying to share the drive so that another LAN user can access it.  I've updated the preexisting driver as well with no success.  Any suggestions?

try deleting it from device manager, reboot, reconnect and test
check allso the cables, and try with another disk
