Question : Problem: My laptop doesnot respond to the power on key - can't turn it on!

The most horriable thing happens: I'm on a business trip and my IBM T23 with xp pro truns dead on me.  A collegue turned off my laptop by pressing the power on/off button. 5 minutes later I tried to turn it on; it showed  no response at all.  I plugged in the battery cable; the battery light reacted  in charging mode - orange light - on this connection. But pressing the power on/off key didn't bring any response:  no sound, no screen,  it's completely dead.  What could be the problem and will I be able to recover my data by pluging my hard drive into my collegue IBM T23?  Please help!

Answer : Problem: My laptop doesnot respond to the power on key - can't turn it on!

Remove the battery and use ac adapter to boot system see if it works? If not, press and hold the power button for couple of minutes.
