I downloaded LifeCam 2.04

I went to this URL then picking( Webcam, VX-3000, Windows XP SP2, English)
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE

which then gives you this to download the LifeCam 2.04 installation
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=ICE&type=Webcams&name=VX6000&os=XP_SP2&lang=en

During installation it stops and says that it cannot continue because it was not digitally signed by Microsoft.

How can that be?

Answer : Problem: not digitally signed by Microsoft

Your driver is not digatilly signed by microsoft which could cause a corrupt OS.

You can try to change your driver acceptation by :

1 : right click My Computer
2 : Choose hardware
3 : Driver signing
4 : Choose Ignore or Warn (I think actually it stands on block)

You can choose to put it as system default.
Klick on ok and reinstal your application/drivers.

It should be OK now.
