Question : Problem: Audio on motherboard conflicting with front panel please help!

I have started building a pc and found trouble connecting the motherboard to the case front panel audio. The motherboard is a DQ965GF, which has the following sockets
Ground
Port1L
Port1R
Port2
Sense-send
Sense1 ret
Sense2 ret
Port2L
Presence#

Where as on the front panel i have wires labelled
Mic in
Mic power
R Ret
Ground
L Ret
L out
R out
So far from checking intels website ive found that port1 concerns input and port2 the out and obviously ground=ground. Therefore sense1 Ret probably corresponds to either L Ret or R ret. As is this is my first build however I am very cautious of trial and error and would be greatful for any help!

Answer : Problem: Audio on motherboard conflicting with front panel please help!

If you want connect an AC’97 front panel audio system to HD onboard headers, try these steps:

Connect Mic_IN (MIC) to MIC2_L.
Connect Audio_R (RIN) to OUT2_R
Connect Audio_L (LIN) to OUT2_L.
MIC_RET and OUT_RET are for HD audio only; you don't need to connect them for AC'97 audio.
