Question : Problem: Cannot install XP onto RAID on Asus M2N-VM motherboard

Hi,

I needed some more space and speed so I upgraded from 80gb SATA (single) to twin 200GB SATA in a RAID 1 (mirrored) setup.

Installation loads fine. I dont have a floppy disk drive so I used nLite to include them on my CD. Boot setup works ok, and then the next step (the main part of the install) but then after that (just as you see the Windows logo with the loading scrollbar for the first time). I get a blue screen of death and my PC reboots.

Any ideas guys?

Answer : Problem: Cannot install XP onto RAID on Asus M2N-VM motherboard

Hi,

Got it working, thanks guys. I think I was using some old drivers, but I also included the JMicron drivers (even though the device was enabled) and that seemed to do the trick.

The old driver issue was because I was looking for a boot floopy version of the drivers. However for future note you can use the normal (post-windows installation) driver (~110MB file) and use "installer.exe -x" to extract the files, and then (for nForice 4xx driver) import the "IDE \ WinXP \ sataraid" folder into nLite
