Question : Problem: ArcServe r11.1 build 3100 Exchange Document Level backup failed

Hi,

Firstly, the followng is my mail server configuration:

- Exchange server 2003, Win2003 + exchange related hotfixes
- Arcserver Exchange agent, and Exchange premium add-on. Version 11.1 Build 3100 (SP1)

Backup server configuration:
- Windows 2003 SP1
- Arcserver Backup server r11.1 build 3100 (SP1), and BAB hotfix for windows 2k3 sp1

 
Backing up Exchange on database level is working fine eventhough on the job log there is message saying:

My problem is with backing up Exchang on brick level and document level. It always failed.

Originally, my BAB installation was from r11.0 CD, at that time the brick/document level backup had never been successful, therefore I patched the BAB and agents to r.11.1 SP1. Unfortunately brick/document level backup still fails with the following error message:

E8535
Failed to receive data from client agent. (ADDRESS=mail server's IP), EC=10060, COMMAND=0)

I searched the CA SupportConnect and found one patch, however this patch is old (for BAB r11.0). I am assuming that this patch should have been included already with the r11.1 updgrade and also with r11.1 SP1 upgrade, so my backup configuration should work. Am I correct?

Could anyone please gve me advise on rectifying this issue?

Sorry for the delay, it took some time to research this. Bottom line is you need to contact CA support. I'm not sure of the cause but it look like this is going to need a testfix to resolve.
