Question : Problem: scsi to usb converter for IMac
Could you please help me? I bought a new 333 mz. IMac in April and still cannot use my Microtek E3 scanner or my Iomega Zip Drive. Mac Warehouse from whom I bought the computer sent me a Microtech scsi to usb converter about a month ago. When it did not work I was told by their tech reps that it does not have enough power for only 2 objects on my daisy chain. On principal (having spent 2 1/2 yrs. in graphic design school buying software, peripherals, etc.) I refuse to purchase a new scanner or zip drive. Am stuck tho. [Also I have a Wacom drawing tablet which will not hook up to the IMac keyboard.] Have been told to just keep checking the internet for Microtech postings re/compatabilities--nothing yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is that the USB built into the iMac wont support those items as they require too much power. What you need is a powered USB hub that supplies its own power.
