Question : Problem: Which Motherboard??  BFG 680i  or Asus P5K Deluxe Wi-Fi  ???

Good luck has come my way and now I have a decision to make. First, I'm a system builder, but this build is going to be my "daily driver"....and I think it's a case of being to close to the forest to see the trees...if it were not for me personally.....it might be a very easy decision.

I just bought an E8400 at a great price (less than $100). I just finished buidling what was going to be my machine....an Asus P5K Deluxe Wi-Fi (also a good deal, only way I operate)...with an E6850 with just an easy 10% overclock, running Vista 64 very nicely. The reason I built this machine is because one day I was "playing" around with my forner "daily driver"....an OCed E6600 on a BFG 680i board....somehow I managed to short out the mobo...BFG RMAed it in a heartbeat....so I have a basically new one sitting on the shelf....

Other possible factors to the decision...the Asus is set up for Crossfire and I have a single HD3870 in it. The BFG is set up for SLI and I have a BFG 8800gts oc to put in it. I'm not a heavy gamer, but have other reasons to have a decent card. I have a Raptor in the Asus system and another on the shelf. While I have 4 gigs of PC6400 in the Asus...I also have 2 gigs of PC8500 I might like to try in one rig or the other.

So.....should I just replace the E6860 on the Asus with the E8400 or leave it like it is and put the E8400 on the BFG 680i?   And why???? (I'd still prefer to run Vista 64 but dont think it is an issue)

i am a huge fan of crossfire technology. I came from an 8800GTS now to dual 3870s for my gaming pc. It runs amazing. I have a Q6700 only and it runs well. ASUS has always been my choice of board. I run vista ultimate 32-bit.
