Question : Problem: PDU and UPS

I have 6 PDUs connected from a power source dropping from the ceiling. They are proprietery connectors so I cannot do anything else.

Right now, my small business enterprise UPS units, (7) are connected among these various PDUs. Now the ups's run 2-3 servers each. I have a new rack that comes with more PDUs. SHould I connect the UPS to the drop down PDUs, then the new PDU to a UPS to help with wiring, or should I ignore the new pdus and just connect the UPS to the drop down PDUs and then servers into the UPS directly? Because technicalyl the UPS can only handle 1 or 2 servers since they are low end

Answer : Problem: PDU and UPS

I think you answered your own question.

Adding outlets through the PDU's will not add capacity to your UPS configuration, but I would still plug them into the PDU's and then add capacity to the UPS's as needed. This way the wiring stays clean and should you need to add capasity for additional load you will just need to replace or add to your existing UPS depending on if it is scalable or not.
