Question : Problem: building a system from scratch

hi all,

im not the most knowledgeable person on computer specification but i want to build a system from scratch, i want it to be as high spec gaming wise as possible. i have seen the following spec for £800/$1600:

    *  Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
    * 2.13GHz, 1GHz FSB, 2MB Cache
    * Genuine Windows Vista(TM) Premium
    * 2048MB RAM Memory
    * 640GB Hard Drive
    *  Dual Layer DVD RW
    * 640MB nVidia GeForce 8800GTS
    * 8-In-1 Media Card Reader
    * 6 USB Connections
    * 2 No of PCI Slots

any thoughts on the quality of this system?
