Question : Problem: Samsung SyncMaster LCD monitor does not fill screen all the way
A friend of mine has a Samsung SyncMaster monitor (new) that he is installing for the first time. I don't know the specific model, but he said it looks a lot like mine, which is the 206BW. On his, the entire screen is not filled -- vertically it is filled to the edges of the monitor, but horizontally, windows does not extend all the way to the edges of the screen (there is black area on both the left and right sides of the windows desktop area). I have not had this problem on my monitor. What is causing this issue, and how can it be corrected?

Check what the native display resolution of the screen is - on some monitors, if your desktop resolution is less than the native resolution, you only get part of the screen used. If that isn't it, I would try using the monitor controls to widen the display area so that it fills up the screen.
