Question : Problem: How to run multi-mode fiber between two building?

We have two buildings about 70 feet apart and I need to connect them for data and voice.  We can not trench due to superfund site issues.  How could you run fiber between the two buildings say rooftop to rooftop?  One is two stories tall and the other is single story.  Is there special outdoor-rated and sheathed multimode fiber for this?  Other issues to consider?  Thanks.

If you do go with fiber, you would need to make sure you have UV resistant, outdoor cable.  Protection from the sun and birds :).  Other are "loose tube" products, which you can insert your own cable, or come preassembled with multi node fiber.

If you are crossing a street or any public area, you will need city permits and such.

Tensioners, poles, access holes, etc... sounds easier than it is to do it.  I've usually done it in-ground with armoured cable.  Not an option for you.

But with 18-24dbi gain antennas at 70 ft, you would need some serious crazy weather system to lose that connection.
