Question : Problem: HSP56R AMR Modem Driver problem

This is a very specific question about the HSP56R AMR Modem, made by PCtel.

First off, please skip the n00b answers, this is no simple problem.

Anways, what happens, is in anywhere from 1 week to 1 hour, the drivers for it fail: i get an error that it cannot connect to my isp. I know that it's not my isp, i have a standard pci in my other comp that connects w/o problems.

"Error 678: the remote computer did not respond."

Other times it connects at "7.6" Kbps, or even "24.0" and no data is ever transfered.


I know that it's not a software conflict, i've reformatted 4+ times and it's always there.

I've also downloaded the latest drivers for it, (not to mention that it's quite new: only 2 months.)

My System is as follows:
XP Pro
AMD Duron 1.2 GHz
ECS K7S5A mobo
256 DDR Azen RAM

If anyone else has had any problems/successes with this modem please share your insight :)
