Question : Problem: DOS 16 bit app support through VNC

I have two machines, one with Windows XP and the other with Windows 98. I am using Real VNC to access the Windows 98 machine from the Windows XP machine. What I really need to access is a certain 16 bit DOS appplication on the Windows 98 machine.

But as soon as I open the 16 bit application remotely on Windows XP, it doesnt appear on screen. Perhaps this is because of DOS full screen. However, when I open the application in windowed mode by pressing Alt + Enter, the application window appears but Keyboard input and screen output rate are extremely slow.

Is there absolutely any way in which I can access this 16 bit DOS app remotely from the Windows XP machine in a proper and fast manner. This is really really important for the accounting in my business ad I'd be willing to buy any kind of software to enable this.

Please help asap.

you can set VNC to poll the remote screen a different way, like tracking movement of the cursor - but thats not going to be very good for DOS where there is no mouse. you could try ultraVNC - http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net . this gives you more options on the connection so you could set the connection to a modems speed, this may speed up or even eliminate the time lag.
wildstar10 could be on to something though - that tiny program looks pretty good. i can't see how you'd get it runnning from a remote location though, it looks like someone needs to start the server part of it every time you reboot
