Question : Problem: What are some good remote audit tools?

Hi There
We are a service/software delivery company in the CRM workspace - We pretty much do installations and implementations of CRM software on clients sites.
What we are always having an issue with, is that we give out what the minimum specs are for the servers, etc, but almost 4 ot of 5 times, we find people has just agreed with the min specs on thought and not on actual fact. This inturn delays the whole implementation schedule while work out the issue.
What we are looking for is like an application or exe or similar (even point them to a website) that they would do on the server, that could either generate a file or even better automatically put in to somewhere we can access it on the web, so we can get the client to do this prior to implementation so we can look over it and check all min specs are met.
So looking for something that can provide a simple audit on pc specs and software.
Prefer to be free, but ok if it costs a small amount if it does exactly what we want.
