Question : Problem: Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop bad video

I have an inspiron 6000 with XP Pro.  Looks like one of the colors is shot...whites are blue or even in Safe Mode.  A lot of shadows.  Dell Diagnostics are useless.

I hooked up to an external monitor and the colors are fine.  Does this mean the lcd display is dead?

First I would try reseating the lcd cable, if that's loose it can cause what your seeing. If that doesn't fix it hen look at replacing the LCD, you can get a replacement on ebay for less than $100. Below is a link to the service manual for the 6000 for reseating the lcd cable and if neede4d replacing the lcd.
