Question : Problem: Function keys don't work on MAC G4

Trying to find a keyboard and mouse that will work on both MAC and PC in order to use a switch box rather than have mouse and keyboard for each.  Finally found a keyboard and mouse that the MAC recognizes but the function keys don't work.

Any way to make these work withouth investing in a new keyboard and mouse?

Answer : Problem: Function keys don't work on MAC G4

On the Mac - open System Preferences and go to the Keyboard & Mouse section. on the Keyboard tab. is the "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" checkbox checked or unchecked? By default, OS X has "special" functions assigned to most of the F-keys, and requires you to press an additional key to get the standard F-key functions.

Check that checkbox, and try your keyboard again.
