Question : Problem: Data transfer USB 2 speeds laptop vs desktop

In testing the data transfer speed from a CF card through a USB 2 port to a laptop verses a desktop, we found the transfer to be much faster to the desk top.  If there anything that can be done to modify the laptop USB port speed.  They are both USB 2 and a variety of OSs.  This has been tested on several different laptop and desktop configurations.

try getting a powered usb hub to connect to laptop. Thier is usaully a voltage difference between Laptop ports and desktop ports. Don't buy the cheapest one you can find though as they break often.
