Question : Problem: Security Camera CAT5 Connection Signal Amplifier

Hello,
I have purchased a security camera & DVR (Clover Model # CDR4060RJ, www.cloverusa.com) to set it up at my business yard.

It has 4 outdoor cameras w/ 60' Ethernet cable, RJ45 connection, but I had to set it up far longer than its specification - Camera #1 - 360', Camera #2 & #3 - 260', #4 - 60' - due to my yard's size.
Camera #2, 3, 4 are working good enough but shows somewhat weak signal - shows moving lines, but my biggest problem is Camera #1 - it doesn't work at all.

I think if I put CAT5 signal amplifier/booster, it should work but need experts advise first.
If my idea should work, where can I buy the signal amplifier? What kind??
Your experts' advices will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Ed

Answer : Problem: Security Camera CAT5 Connection Signal Amplifier

Its tough to be 100% sure how to build the cables since it depends on how many of the pins are being used.

The site gives no information about the camera model that you listed, but here is my best guess.  If the camera uses a separate power supply, then you will probably be able to use these standard RJ45 to bnc connectors;

If the camera is powered through the cable then you are stuck having to go back the the vendor and have them supply a solution.

Disclaimer!!!  I used the word "Probably" because there are several things that could cause it not to work, and the connectors cost over $20 a piece and you will need at least 2.  and the amplifier will cost over $40

Your safest and probably cheapest solution is to contact the vendor, for either an amplifier solution, or to return the equipment that you have now for the proper equipment for your job.  (The other cameras on their site have bnc or rca connectors which can easily be used with off the shelf amplifiers.
