Question : Problem: JetDirect 175x not being assigned an IP address

Previously working. Replaced router due to suspect ADSL problems. New router not assigning any IP address to the JetDirect 175x. Returned to the old router.  Same problem.  Both routers will assign IP addresses to any computers attached. Even transferred the ethernet cable from one computer and plugged that into the JetDirect to eliminate other variables but no joy.  HP printer does not have a control panel so unable to assign static address that way.  Reluctant to buy new JetDirect as feel it has to be something I've overlooked.
