Question : Problem: EPSON TM-U220D serial port printer doesnot connect to new computer

Ok, got a new computer and installed a parallel + 2 serial card on it and installed the drivers. I am connecting the printer to both com 3 and com 4 and it does not print (it has the drivers installed ofcourse). I Also tried the Epson ESD com ports to no avail.

The printer works fine went connected to the old computer.

Anyone got any input on what am I doing wrong?

Are the port settings (i.e. baud rate, parity, etc) correct for the printer? To check, click on the Configure Port button (under the Ports tab in printer Properties). You may want to compare them with the settings on the old PC.

Also, check the Device Manager to make sure the card is working correctly. Is the card set up to work as COM3 and COM4? Note that, even without additional serial ports, COM3 & 4 are available under the Ports tab, so you may need to change some setting on the card to have it grab those ports. Does it need any special settings?
