Question : Problem: Remote Desktop/username not allowed
I'm trying to get remote desktop working after reinstalling the OS (windows XL Media Center). When I try to connect from a PC on the same network, I get the "unable to logon" message. I verified that remote desktop is installed, configured, permitted by the windows firewall and had my username (computer administrator) as a remote desktop user (RDU).
As a test, I created a new user and added them as an RDU and I was able to sucessfully connect. I removed all users from the RDU list and re-added myself. Still can't connect.
I tried changing the name of my user but I think that's just a display feature because when I tried to add the new username, I got a message that the object could not be found.
I really would like to avoid recreating the user account. Any ideas how to get this working?
