Question : Problem: PCI Card Works With Via, but not Intel Chipset
|
|
Hi,
I have a PCI card which works find on ASUS motherboards and anything with the VIA chipset. However, when installed on a motherboard with the Intel 815 chipset, Windows 2K keeps re-detecting the card each time it starts. Why is this happening and Is there any way around this problem?
Thanks!

plus linkkoh and caffeineshark's suggestion, I will do uninstall and reinstall the driver from the device manager.
Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device manager 1. to see if there is any yellow ! was displayed before the icon of your PCI device. If so, it is a IRQ conflicts problem, ( not likely ) you can change the PCI slot for anohter try.
2. If no such sign, then select your PCI device and right click to select Uninstall. 3. Find the proper and latest driver 4. restart the PC 5. follow the wizard for installing the driver.
this may help , but not sure. It is looks like a Windows problem rather than anything else if the drive is the correct one.
Finally solution will install the system on that machine. good luck
