Question : Problem: Macbook lid won't snap shut

I had the back case replaced on my MACBook and now the lid won't close properly. It used to snap shut. I notice the guy left a small metal piece out of it (about 1/2 inch long by 1/8 by 1/8). Could this be the problem, and if so is it a lot of work to put it back?
