Tried to upgrade from 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor to an Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz. Computer turns on but monitor says there is no signal. Monitor is less than 6 months old and in perfect working order. Reinstalled new chip, cleaned all connections, still no signal.
New to processor upgrades so I'm sure I screwed something up. Bought wrong chip, maybe? Computer itself was built less than a year ago--bare bones kit which I upgraded most of the stuff in it.
I'm techie-talk impared (don't know most of the lingo) but can work on PC's usually without a hitch.
All help is appreciated.
