Question : Problem: Sound Card Shows Up In Device Manager But Is Not An Option For Playback
|
|
Hi,
I can see the soundcard in the device manager, it is enabled. When I go to the sound properties area and try to select it as the playback device it is not there. All that I can choose is Microsoft RDP Audio Driver. I have installed the latest audio driver, chipset drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the sound card, and even updated the BIOS. Any thoughts?

this issue is normally caused by either faulty hardware, corrupted or wrong drivers.
silly question, but do they show up if you reboot? i only ask, because my audio devices on one of my machines sometimes 'stops' working because i end task on explorer quite often.
since the last time it worked and now, have you installed any software" or hardware? or made any configuration changes?
i'm guessing you have, but for the sake of arguments, have you removed, then reinstalled the hardware from devicemanager?
are there any splats in device manager?
if you try to play an audio device (w/out using the lyra) does any sound come out? if not does it give you an error?
