Question : Problem: Installed aftermarket motherboard on HP and now have no sound

I have an HP Desktop. Here's the rundown on it

C:\Program Files\Belarc\Advisor\System\tmp\(User-gs8hr4y6q4).html

My motherboard went out and the computer store ordered an aftermarket one. In order to make it work they dumped a partition and then did a reinstall of XP. Everything works fine except I have no sound. They can't figure out why. Can you help? The link above shows you my entire set-up. Thanks.

Answer : Problem: Installed aftermarket motherboard on HP and now have no sound

When it first boots up, there is usually a line that says "Press to enter setup".   will vary from system to system; it's on mine, on IBMs, and on others.  The BIOS screen will come up (it looks like DOS) if you are successful, and you use the arrow keys to navigate to different pages.  You are looking for Onboard Audio, or something like that, and you want to make sure it says enabled.  Then if you changed a setting, you save it on exit.
