Question : Problem: Unable to access internet through wireless connection
|
|
I have a 128 bit WEP secured wireless network with Linksys WRT300N ver. 1 Wireless-N router (no firmware update available). I have a Win XP machine with a Netgear WG111v3 G USB adapter (latest driver). I can connect to the wireless network - excellent signal strenght and all the correct IP info. But I can't get on the internet - IE cannot display the webpage. I have no problem connecting to the router and getting on the internet with two other wireless devices. When I plug a cable from the router into the Ethernet port, the PC acquires all the same IP info (different address, of course) and gets on the internet without a problem.
I previously had a different wireless adapter on this PC and had this issue:

With ethernet connected, I CAN ping the DG. Without ethernet, only wireless connected, I CANNOT ping the DG.
Any ideas? Thank you.

Try one of the wireless adapters from one of your other PC's just as a test.
