Question : Problem: hp officejet pro 7680 scanner not recognized by XP PC

I have a HP Office Jet Pro L7680 interfacing with a Dell Dimension running XP Home.  The HP software has been a dog with the OS.  First i installed the disc and my internet access just stopped.  I went to a prior restore point and was able to get to the web again.  Second I went to uninstall the software from HP and it just basically ignored the request.  I download the hp software uninstall util and it did nothing.  I then downloaded some of the individual apps from HP and was able to get some of the programs to run.  Third I went to use the scanner and the software could not find the scanner.  I run a diag and it test clean,   What I need now is if anyone has had similar problem and able to fix it.

seems you have other problems; maybe a corrupt OS
try running sfc /scannow from the run box
