Question : Problem: Humming Noise & Horizontal Moving Bar

Using this TV with Comcast HDTV.  I am getting a humming noise from the TV during play.  Also getting a faint horizontal bar that moves down the screen from top to bottom on darker pictures.  Thought it was defective, but replaced the TV and still have same issue.  Tried a Sony Bravia on the same setup and worked fine.  Comcast / Tweeter both thought it was the speakers being too close to the TV (within 1 foot) but after removing speakers, still get both symptoms.  Any suggestions?

The set is picking up RF interference from a nearby source - this can be a refrigerator, fluorescent light, microwave, wireless device or any other appliance that is not shielded.  Apparently, the Samsung is not as well shielded as the Sony.  Where you place the TV and its orientation will probably affect the sensitivity to noise, so you may have to experiment with turning things off to find out what is causing it.  Hopefully, it isn't a neighbor operating something in their home.
