Question : Problem: Accessing Internal Server Externally via VPN
|
|
Hi there,
I am investigating ways of connecting to my internal server (DHCP, Active Directory, ISA Server, File Server) remotely as indicated below
PC1 <--> modem <--> internet <--> adslmodem <--> pix firewall <--> network containing server
PC1 has a static IP address, and obviously will need to be Allowed on the Cisco Pix Firewall. Our Network also has a static IP Address.
I have read articles detailing the use of ISA Server, and setting up a windows VPN Connection from the Client machine to the Server, but would this mean the Client PC simply connects to the Static IP of the PIX firewall which would then be allowed onto the network and seek out the ISA server (remembering the ISA server technically has no External ip address, only a 192.x.x.x Internal IP.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I would just use the Cisco VPN client and establish a VPN connection directly to the PIX. Then you will effictivly be connected to the remote network and can just connect to the ISA or any other server.
