Question : Problem: XP doesn't recognize Umax Astra 1220s

I just took the leap and upgraded to XP. Much to my dismay, the system now does not find the Astra 1220s.
I tried installing the newest Vistascan driver, recycling the power on the scanner, looking for guidance
on Microsoft's and Umax's sites, all to no avail. Anybody
know how to fix this?

I found the solution. I bought an Adaptec 2906 SCSI card(for a bargain price on Ebay). It installed in Windows XP automatically. I then just plugged in the scanner, XP immediately recognized it, and the scanner seems to work perfectly. I recommend this as the easiest solution.
